Do you want to assess the next round of applications to the UK Seafood Innovation Fund?

The UK Seafood Innovation Fund is looking for anonymous assessors to take part in our next call for projects.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for assessors with specialist knowledge across varied parts of the seafood sector. We are also looking for people with expertise in technology, engineering or a related field.

The fund aims to have a diverse pool of assessors to generate valuable feedback and broad analysis of the applications we receive. As such, assessors are welcomed from a wide range of backgrounds, including academia, industry and the public sector.

Other than being an expert in your relevant field, assessors must adhere to the following conditions:

• If you, or an organisation you work for, is submitting a bid for this round of funding, then you cannot be an assessor for the respective call for applications
• You cannot not be an employee of Cefas.
• You cannot not have worked directly for Cefas in the last 12 months and must not be involved in any ongoing research with current Cefas employees.
• You must remain anonymous indefinitely. You must not discuss your interest in being an assessor with anyone, other than with the SIF management team.
• You must sign a confidentiality agreement, confirming that they will not discuss or share any information about the applications they review, other than with the Cefas SIF management team.

When do we need you to work?

You must be available to complete assessments during a specific period and adhere to the timetable provided by us. Timetables will be provided as soon as any future calls are opened.

There will be additional calls for applications to the fund during 2021 and we are also looking to hear from applicants who are happy to assess future applications.

Is this a paid position?

Yes, you will be paid £100 for each application you assess.

Payment is subject to approval by the SIF management team, based on completion of assessments to the required standard and within the timelines provided.
